Sunshine Coast volunteer Greg Beale recognised for 32-year crime-fighting service
Congratulations to our crime-preventing sleuth, Greg Beale for his 32-year service to Crime Stoppers Queensland and ensuring the ongoing safety of our Sunshine Coast community.
Crime Stoppers Queensland is proud to recognise Greg Beale for his outstanding 32- year commitment to the organisation, recently being awarded a Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) for his service to community safety.
“I am honoured to have been part of Crime Stoppers Queensland for the past three decades and will continue to provide my service to the community,” he said.
“This year I was thrilled to accept the OAM for my work with the organisation here on the Sunshine Coast. The Crime Stoppers Sunshine Coast Committee has played a valuable role in the ongoing safety of our community.
“Crime Stoppers plays such a vital role in helping reduce crime, as we have hundreds of calls each year from people reporting crime anonymously.”
Greg initially joined Crime Stoppers in 1990, with a strong passion for community safety and crime-prevention.
Crime Stoppers Queensland Sunshine Coast Committee Chair Jeffrey Frazer said Greg has been paramount to the organisation and continues to raise awareness of anonymous reporting and the power we can all play in ensuring our communities are safe places for young and old.
“Greg has been the backbone of Crime Stoppers on the Sunshine Coast and kept the organisation growing over the years,” he said.
Greg and Crime Stoppers Sunshine Coast were part of a team that assisted in Queensland’s biggest ever missing person’s investigation for teenager Daniel Morcombe.
Time and money invested in finding Daniel, including coordinating donations, was led by the Sunshine Coast Crime Stoppers area committee. Crime Stoppers efforts and the ongoing mission of Denise and Bruce Morcombe led to the launch of the Daniel Morcombe Foundation in 2005.
Crime Stoppers has been part of the Sunshine Coast community since 1990 and is the most trusted information receiving service for people wanting to report unsolved crime and suspicious activity.
